We are thrilled to announce SUB ROSA, the very first fundraiser live event by APOCALYPSE CONFIDENTIAL. Taking place at the historic Clinton Street Theater in Portland, Oregon, on June 3, SUB ROSA promises to be an afternoon of low lives and high strangeness.
We will be presenting a double feature of Portland sin and sleaze: Portland Expose, a shlocky noir from the late 1950s set in the Rose City during the height of Congressional investigations into organized crime in the city; and Unhinged, an early 80s sleazoid slasher flick filmed by locals after hours at a local landmark, a film so morally deleterious it was deemed a video nasty across the pond and banned by the UK.
All together, SUB ROSA will illustrate a picture of Portland before a bird was put on it, before it was kept weird, when it was the rough-and-tumble realm of psycho killers and pushers, pimps, and pinball hustlers. Here’s to them — the bad old days are here again.
Tickets are available for $20 on Eventbrite.
